My other complaint about his service is that we had to get somebody else to refill our coffees he didn’t come around at all. He even said to us he was only there for two weeks, and although he was very nice he definitely needed more training before you put him on the floor of a very busy diner. I mean set the plates down and was walking away when A man from the other table said this isn’t our food and then it was my girlfriend who said “Hello, thats our food.” He brought our food to the wrong table, we watched him. Our server was nice but you can tell lacked in Experience diner was busy, but with the new seating in the dining room there was no wait at all!įood was fresh & delicious.
My friend mentioned she had a coupon for I-hop and I was like Hell No!! I’m taking you to a real jersey diner! So here we are, a Saturday morning at the famous Tick Tock diner. Other diners are much better and more reasonable. Sorry, I can go to a high class restaurant and pay less for a French onion soup. Less handling of cash, no worries for needing change, no having to go to the bank, no risk of robbery, contactless and the list goes on but you charge a fee for it. We are doing you a favor by using a card, especially during this pandemic. As if their prices aren’t high enough! I know a lot of places are starting to do this, and I just feel it’s ridiculous. They also charge a percentage for using a credit card to pay your check. Had to wait awhile for drink refills and with that heavy peppered hand of the chef, I really needed a drink refill! A huge pet peeve! She would then disappear for a bit after quality check. My guest had a soup and gyro and it all came out at the same time. The soup was good but the chef had a very heavy pepper hand! Definitely needs to lighten up a bit on the pepper. Had the French onion soup ($8)! This Diner tries to be upscale but it’s not. I used to visit this diner frequently when I was in high school.

The few customers in the diner were walled off into a small front section of the large restaurant that usually was full when the food was good and the service reliable. It's no wonder that even at noon, the diner's parking lot was almost empty.
The waiter seemed to disappear so I went to the cashier after waiting for the waiter to show up, and a check was created by the cashier. My friend asked for coffee, which came to the table quickly but was not refilled. I asked for a refill of my diet Coke, and that didn't happen. The rest of the $18.00 plate was composed of some tired vegetables and two packs of cream cheese, and a cheap packaged bagel.I asked for water, which never was delivered.
The salmon was suspiciously too dark meaning it was old. My lunch companion ordered a bagel with lox and cream cheese. The stale bread and overripe green lettuce were bad enough, but the small dab of tuna on the sandwich was insulting for $8.95. At lunch just recently I had a tuna sandwich. however, over the last several years, the menu has changed and the cooks are amateurs turning out TERRIBLE food.
